Word for the Week

“Sing in the whirlwind.  The rhythm affects the velocity of the wind.”

Lord, I sing for change in the hearts of people, I sing for Your mighty move here.  Teach me how to sing in agreement with Your wind.

Lift up a whirlwind of praise!

October, 2014 Update

Hello Dear Saints!
Blessed Feast of Tabernacles! We are celebrating two new beginnings, the new school year and the Hebrew new calendar year, 5775, year of God´s Whirlwinds.
School is going at a good pace with many new faces. The teachers are very enthusiastic and joyful this new year. We stand in wonder at the move of God in our village. For four years many turned their backs on the school but now have come to be part of His family. We praise God for His faithfulness when there does not seem to be much hope.
2014Oct Jefferson 1One tremendous hallelujah is for Carrie, our short-term missionary. As a certified nurse, she fulfills a required slot for Maria’s high school in Quito one day a week. As a well-rounded, wonderful addition to our teaching staff in Tambo, she fills many roles. The one role that has really impacted the children is her teaching violin lessons. The children are thrilled. I have received reports that this instrument is now on the “wish list” of several kids. One new fifth-grade student is handicapped being born with a hand without fingers. The boy has an excellent attitude toward life but has not been challenged or disciplined to do any academic work, therefore has had a difficult time learning to study. Although Kjers2014Oct Jefferson 3ti, his teacher, is extremely capable and patient, it appears an almost insurmountable task to gain academic ground. Enter Carrie. With her medical background, love for children and God-given creativity, she fashioned a mitt out of a wristbrace to hold the bow of the violin. The light and smile on Jefferson’s face brings tears to our eyes, and to his parents. Look at the photos in order. Finally, he has something at which he c2014Oct Jefferson 2an excel. To God be the glory!
One more move of God in our sphere. Ecuador has divided the nation into 156 small areas called districts. Our province and particularly our district have been basically at the bottom of the performance barrel since its inception. Last June, we brought the school children to the Educational District office at the invite of the Supervisor to sing and pray for the new 25-plus staff that have been so helpful to us this year. After the children sang, danced and shared, I offered a time of individual prayer with those that were interested. Although they were free to leave, almost the entire staff stayed for prayer. I was surprised by how many of them were concerned about their collective job operation and asked that God help them do their work well. We prayed accordingly. Last month a notice was sent out to all of the schools in the nation about the status of the different provinces and districts. Our district ranked #1 in the nation for performance! Absolute miracle – not even in the thinking of the auspicious and powerful districts of the big cities.
2014Oct Jefferson 4I think we often relegate God’s interest and answers to prayer to only believers. God wants the world to know that He loves each of them and answers the petitions of those that do not know Him to draw them to Himself. What a tremendous testimony to the boundless love of God.
If you feel led by the Lord to touch a student in a personal manner, we have a new program that Carrie is excitedly pushing forward. In the past we have had individuals sponsor a child in prayer, with letters and financially; however, it was extremely difficult for us to maintain the cross-cultural exchange which was a source of frustration for me. But God wants the children to have the prayer support, in particular, so He sent Carrie to take photos, videos, history/updates, translate letters and manage the project. Hurray!!! If you would like to know more, please drop us a note. The website will soon have a button with all the necessary information.
Thank you for supporting us with your prayers, encouragement and donations. What a blessing you are to us. If you have a prayer request please feel free to let us know so we can join you in coming before the Father.

Word for the Week

“Broken and poured out”
Jesus was broken for us and poured out His life that we might have access to Him and the Father. We must be like-minded for the Kingdom of our God. Broken and poured out. “Here am I send me, here am I use me. Not my will but YOURS.”

Word for the Week

“Acceleration is a gift from the treasuries of heaven.”
With the acceleration comes all that is necessary to advance quickly and NOW. We declare no delays in the forward movement for the Kingdom.

Word for the Week

“THE Love overcomes”

In Him and through His love all things are possible.   I must be willing to let HIS LOVE manifest through me in whatever way HE chooses, so my part of the Kingdom can advance.   His Love is much more than we think it is.

Word for the Week

“How the mighty have fallen.  Beware lest you fall into the trap.”

What are the traps we are inclined to?  Pride, distractions, being right instead of righteous, fear.   We must praise and thank Him as a way of life and keep our focus on His vision for our lives.

Word for the Week

“Power in the believers.”

We must walk in the power of His love as our plumbline.

August 2014, Update

Dear Saints,
2014 Aug Visiting

Visiting friends and churches

Well, the summer is over and so is our home ministry assignment on the East Coast.  We had a wonderful time!  A huge thank you to all of you that opened your homes, held dinners and special meetings, arranged speaking times in your churches, smiled, shook our hands and blest us.  Thank you to those who wanted to visit but could not and encouraged us anyway.  We pray earnestly for each of you that the Lord multiply unique blessings for each one and that you will know a little more just how much HE loves you and we do too.

We have been participating in a prayer endeavor with fellow believers around the world called the  “5:15 Movement.”  Monday through Friday at 5:15 AM (whatever time zone) we unite in prayer focusing in on Acts 5:15 for a move of God in our local area, as well as praying for the daily situation in Israel.   I believe that because we have been faithful for several months to passionately seek the Lord in agreement, even just 10 minutes a day, we are now seeing an amazing breakthrough in our village.   Parents in our own village who have been opposed to sending their children to God’s school for these past 11 years are now the first in line to register for the coming year.  I am overwhelmingly humbled.
While we were in the States, a much needed election was held in the village to elect new community leaders.   In the past, the people made some very poor choices.  This time, God moved and He placed a group of excellent men and women, about half of whom are firm believers.  This coming Monday, the elected officials have asked us to come and pray for them as they begin taking on new challenges.  What an honor and responsibility.
            Several praises are in order:
**The USA visa of our Ecuadorian daughter-in-law, Mayra, is progressing faster than anticipated.
**We thank Zakry Fleshman for his year with us and pray God’s leading for the next phase of his destiny.
**Carrie Dotson’s Ecuadorian visa was approved last week.  Hurray!  She will be with us for the coming year.
**Warm, ENTHUSIASTIC, public “welcome back” at the community meeting last week.  Wow.  That was a first.
**Several faithful supporters and the children of Carrie’s church have already asked to sponsor students in the Tambo school.   Tremendously encouraging.  Prayer support is critical; financial support necessary for every child.
Even if you received the hard copy DVD this summer, please visit our website to view our 2014 video presentation of what God is doing in this corner of the globe.  You will be blest.    www.sealaluz.org

Word for the Week

“Do you not see how much I love you?”

Lord Jesus, when I sit quietly and wait on You, a flood of answered prayers fill my mind from just this last week – I am humbled and blessed.

To see Your love and hand in so many ways fills me with assurance and confidence that nothing is impossible when given to You, that You are listening to all of my prayers, that You love me unconditionally.  To see the answers to prayers gives me a constant testimony of Your interest in my life so I can forge ahead against the darts of the enemy.  Thank You, my Jesus.  I love You.
