Rejoicing Saints,
Jesus loves us! Is this not a tremendous reason to rejoice? It’s enough to make me do cartwheels!! If we could just wrap our minds around this truth, it would change our whole thinking process – change our identity. Last week, the word the Lord gave me was, “Tell them of My great love.” I have tried to carry that with me every day since, sharing it where possible. As I began the English class with the students in Maria’s high school, I told them how much Jesus loves them and then prayed to open the lesson. The Lord gave me interesting insights during the class where I could draw in Biblical truth with the English vocabulary. At the end of class, I blessed the teens with hugs, handshakes and smiles. One young man returned to the empty room with theological questions. What yearning in his heart! As I answered his misguided points of concern, the Lord prodded me to present Jesus’ gift of salvation. I quit the non-essentials and told Steven of God’s great love for him. Would he like to fill the vacuum in his life with Jesus? Without hesitation, he assented. When he finished repeating a prayer of repentance and faith in Jesus as Lord, Steven’s eyes were literally sparking. The electricity of the Holy Spirit was awesome! The angels were dancing.
Two days later, I had a parents’ meeting at our school in Tambo. About 25 adults were present. The Lord told me to share a Thanksgiving message from Philippians 4:6-7. Kjersti started with prayer and I opened my mouth to begin the devotional but instead I was so overwhelmed by Holy Spirit that I began to passionately tell these precious parents of His great love for them. Many were affected to tears even as I was and they all listened with such hunger to His message. For some it was the first time they had ever heard the good news. Pray with us for healthy sprouts from the seeds that were sown.
In October, Kjersti was privileged to translate at a conference twice for Dr. Peter Wagner. Because of her stellar job, she is now “on staff” to translate from English to Spanish several recorded classes offered by the Wagner Leadership Institute. What a gift she has to use for the Kingdom and she is excited to be able to bless emerging Christian leaders in South America. Dave’s new ministry is vehicle repair and sharing the Lord with the owners. Random people off the street, in the village or stuck in the mud come to the gate asking for help. He is glad to be of the King’s service.
Developing our own curriculum and filming lessons for DVDs has taken on a new twist. A request from our last update was that we would have “continued progress on the DVDs to take into the great unknown.” We now have a fifth grade student in Rome, Italy, the son of an Ecuadorian diplomat! Definitely the “unknown.” God blest us by initiating international distance learning with an outspoken Christian family so our first experience is wonderful. Lots of (foreign) bugs to work out but by God’s grace we are sharing His great love via education. Thank you for praying.
